Melbourne, FL -  I graduated in 1980, but rowed in my junior year. A member of the first girl's crew team, the second year of the program. What we wouldn't have done to have all those lovely boats to race in. The "Doc", our only boat, weighed 600 pounds and our coach, Dan Bartlett, made us girls carry it down to the water. "You row it. You carry it." :)

2010 - Sam Weiser - samweiser49@gmail.com
I was a coxswain for four years and I truly enjoyed it. I was on the women's team for my first two years then switched to the guys for my last two years. I learned a lot from both teams. The highlight of my rowing with Mel High career had to be having the Mens Varsity 8+ for two years and going to Nationals in it my Senior year and in the Women's V4+ my sophomore year. I also met a lot of great friends that I hope to stay in touch with (Andrew Stebbins). Currently I am a student at the University of Virginia studying Architecture.

2010 - Jonnie Smithson

I rowed for Mel-High Crew for my four years of high school. It was the best experience of my life and it shaped me to be the person I am today.  I made many lifelong friends and memories through rowing. Now I am at UCF and rowing for them in the spring! I will always keep in contract with Mel High Crew and rowing will always be in my life. My favorite memories from MHS Crew was racing in the double(2X) with my twin, Katy Smithson

2010 - Katy Smithson  kathryn.smithson@knights.ucf.edu

I rowed for Mel high Crew for all four years of high school and it was the best experience of my life. I rowed for the University of Tennessee my freshman year and am currently finishing up at the University of Central Florida with a degree in Health Services Administration. My twin sister and I still enjoy taking our double skull out and remembering how much fun we had. Mel high crew is very special organization to me and I look forward to keeping in contact with the crew family.

It was a very fun and rewarding experience, and I still see the friends I made every time I come home from college. I am currently studying biomedical engineering at Texas A&M.

2012 - Andrew Stebbins - astebbins3@gmail.com
Rowing for Mel High for four years was an awesome experience. First off it got me into shape, taught me leadership, and met a great group of guys throughout my years. Freshman year I raced in Mel Highs first ever Varsity 8+ at States 2009. Sophomore year I was fortunate enough to stroke the Varsity 8+ at States 2010. Junior Year we took 6th at SRAA Nationals 2011 in the Junior 4+. Senior year we took 6th at SRAA Nationals 2012 in the Senior 4+. Now I am going off to Jacksonville University to row for a greats mens program.
