Melbourne High School Rowing Association - Rowing Together Since 1977

Parents = Volunteers

Bulldog Rowing depends on the time and talent of you, our parents, at every turn.

Fortunately, the rewards are great!  Through monthly parent meetings we keep you informed of what's happening in the life of the team and give you a voice in team activities.

There are lots of volunteer opportunities and lots of camaraderie with parents who are in the same boat.

Track Your Volunteer Hours
When you are serving as a Mel-Hi Crew Volunteer your time qualifies as Service Hours with Brevard Public Schools. The more hours we register, the more our program benefits us and Melbourne High School.  Our Crew Program is held in high regard by the School Board because of our great number of volunteer hours which equals parent involvement.

So, please keep track of your volunteer service hours and post them to the Online Volunteer Form - CLICK HERE

The items that count for volunteering include: volunteering at regattas, fundraising for crew, $18 spent for food =1 service hour, being on the board or chairing a committee, hauling trailers, chaperon for road trips, yard work at Ballard and the list goes on.  Attending Parent meetings and driving to and from practice and regattas count as Service Hours for the High School.  However they DO NOT fulfill the 10 hours of volunteer work we expect from crew parents.  Parent meeting attendance is expected and essential for ordering apparel, holding elections, organizing trips and fundraisers, and hearing from our coaches and board.
